Implementing Resolution 1701

Contact your state legislature and see if there is already a Resolution written. If this is the case they can skip these next steps and begin by bringing the Resolution to Congress.

1. Begin by contacting both houses of Congress within your state legislature.
2. Ask for your Congressman to propose your Resolution
3. Suggest that the Resolution gain support of other members of Congress
4. Once a sponsor and co-sponsor are gained, the resolution can be brought to Congress
5. Once you get support, follow the five steps below, to bring the Resolution to your state Congress!

5 Steps to Bringing your Resolution to Congress

How to bring resolution 1701 to your state legislature.

1. Ask your Jewish community, youth groups, and religious schools to send out emails asking for people to send emails and letters to their Congressmen asking them to support the proposed bill.
2. Reach out to your local Jewish and secular newspapers, so that the media gets hold of the pressing issue.
3. Contact your local Jewish Community Relations Committee in either your state or province to have them support the cause and put pressure on the community.
4. Call your members of Congress to support the Resolution until it is brought to the committee.
5. Once the Resolution reaches the committee, call your State legislature so that you can testify on the issue, in both houses.
